TGIF on a Saturday...

TGIF on a Saturday!!!

I'm going to blog about what happened on Friday night...on Saturday...because I woke up at 4pm today! Yea, yea I know...I'm a pig...but sleeping is good...especially when you sleep at 5.30am the night before :p And I needed that rest after one stressful week!

Look at how being overseas can train one's culinary skills...presenting to you...猪肉河粉!

I never imagined that we could have cooked that...haha...but we did!

And after that I went down to Blue Moon Pizza, thanks to Matt (a local) who drove us, to try my hands at a good pizza joint + trivia! What an awesome marketing concept for a pizza restaurant, to hold a trivia every weekend with cash incentives as prizes.

Well the drawback was that it was hard to find a table, since most patrons would stay till 10pm when the trivia finally ended...we had to sit out in the cold for about an hour before we finally managed to get a table inside! Still, it was great fun.

Some questions that I can still remember included stuff like:
1. In "Lost", who helped Kate give birth on the island?
2. Who's the President of the Confederacy during the civil war?
3. What patriotic song did Aretha Franklin sing during Barack Obama's inaguration?
4. Which are the top 4 men's basketball team in NCAA basketballthat have won the most championships?
5. In descending order, arrange these deserts by size: Gobi, Sahara, Kalahari, and Takla Makan.

Can you answer them?

Anyway the pizzas were to die for...that's a "Meateor" pizza.

Nice name isn't it? It's sinful with lots of meat all over, as the name suggests, haha...we had a "Grandmother's Pizza" too, but my hands were too oily by then for pictures to be taken...I think I might be able to find some pics from Justin or MingFeng's camera...

Why don't they make pizzas this good back in Singapore? I swear I'll do something like that when I come back to Singapore...

And that's their specialty "Blue Moon" beer...brewed using Belgium wheat I think...it was rather sweet but went well with the greasy pizzas.

Crazy night it was...horfun, pizza, trivia, and it ended with a few hours of exciting Texas Hold'em at John's apartment and won a nominal 5usd...covered a third of my pizza meal :p

Gonna run now, take care all!

P.S. Yes Wenxu, I'll play poker with you once we meet up!
