Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow
Monday, March 2, 2009

I woke up at 12pm today and was greeted by snow flakes at my window. For real.

I mean I saw snow and played with snow during my ski trip...but that was in North Carolina...I'm in Atlanta and it isn't supposed to snow at all.

I repeat, Atlanta isn't supposed to experience snow. Global warming? Freaky weather? Who cares? I love it!

Meteorological reports are in and apparently this is one of the heaviest snowstorms Atlanta has ever seen, since 1993! Talk about being lucky! And to be more precise, it's a "Thundersnow"; there was loud thunder accompanying the strong howling winds and raging snow!

Talk about cool =)

The view from the outside of my apartment...And on the ground... Oh boy...anyway...like bumpkins we are...us Singaporean kids went out for a bout of snow fun! The campus is usually dead on Sunday afternoons...but today...it was ALIVE.

This has to be by far, one of the prettiest scenes (and photo I've taken haha) I've ever witnessed. The juxtaposition of winter and spring. Spring is supposed to be round the corner and the trees have already started flowering...look at all the pink blossoms, rudely drenched by the sudden snow!
A silly, dirty, mini-snowman...And another variant!Tons of people were around, engaged in snow fights and snowman building. The Lacrosse field was beautiful (random nugget: we kick soccer on the Lacrosse field most of the time haha). An entire vast expanse of flat, white, snow...and people all around...wheee!
Some of the black guys were horribly irritating though...they kept smashing snowballs at everybody else...and some "cheated" by firing off snowball from the top deck of the multistory car park 3 levels high...and it HURTS like hell! And there's nothing we could do about it because there's no way to fire back snowballs up 3 levels..hmph...damn cheaters!

Me armed and ready to engage in snowball fighting!
And a crazy local who dressed up like a King for the occassion! By the way, see the snowman in the background? Haha...Anyway...even in the snowy weather...I had to camwhore hahaha...but this has to be, by far, one of my favorite camwhore shots due to the unique situation and background! And here's a short "video tour" of the snow as I headed back to my apartment...
Even though the snow was pretty and everybody was having fun...just before I returned back to my apartment, fate had it that I had to see the darker-side of Mother Nature's beauty...Beautiful yet deadly snow...it claimed the life of a pigeon. It was frozen solid beneath chunks of snow...slowly left to be covered and buried in an icy tomb...

When we finally kiss goodnight
How I hate going out in the storm
But if you really hold me tight
All the way home I'll be warm

The fire is slowly dying
And my dear we're still goodbye-ing
As long as you love me so
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
